This post is based on my previous post. click here for my previous post.

There is however a redistribution of wealth.
A is the winner, B is the loser, C is lucky that he is spared.
A few points worth noting –

(1) When a bubble is building up, the debt of individuals to one another in a country is also building up.
(2) This story of the island is a closed system whereby there is no other country and hence no foreign debt. The worth of the asset can only be calculated using the island’s own currency. Hence, there is no net loss.
(3) An over-damped system is assumed when the bubble burst, meaning the land’s value did not go down to below 1 dollar.
(4) When the bubble burst, the fellow with cash is the winner. The fellows having the land or extending loan to others are the losers. The asset could shrink or in worst case, they go bankrupt.
(5) If there is another citizen D either holding a dollar or another piece of land but refrains from taking part in the game,  he will neither win nor lose. But he will see the value of his money or land go up and down like a see saw.
(6) When the bubble was in the growing phase, everybody made money.
(7) If you are smart and know that you are living in a growing bubble, it is worthwhile to borrow money (like A ) and take part in the game. But you must know when you should change everything back to cash.
(8) As in the case of land, the above phenomenon applies to stocks as well.
(9) The actual worth of land or stocks depend largely on psychology.

kamal proves again in dasavatharam

Posted in general on July 9, 2008 by balajisrinivas

I watched ulaganayagan’s dasavatharam on june 13th with my friends. It was on the same day we had our college convecation. I wonder where 4 years went. kamal has worked a lot to make this film successful. (oh kamal! why no kiss scenes ?)

Already many of them have written about dasavatharam. you can view the blogs of ashok , senthil and praveen for detailed film reviews. The thing which striked me when i saw the film was the coordination between the names of the 10 avatharams of the god and kamal’s avatharams. for example the japanese name Shingen Narahashi resembles narasimha avatharam. krishnaveni patty (krishna avatharam), boovarahan (varaha avatharam), balram naidu (balarama avatharam) go together. Rangaraja nambi and Matsya avatharam can be connected in the aspect that the lord dives into ocean in the form of fish to search all the vedas. Finally avataar singh can be named representing the avatarams(My own build up). For fletcher, govind, kalifullah khan, george bush i am not able to find any connections.

The film started with a grand opening of 12th century rangaraja nambi. The beginning and the end was excellent, but one has to accept the fact that for the sake of keeping the film as dasavatharam or to break the record of sivaji ganesan’s navarathri there are few unncessary characters. This film taken to international standards is special without local comedies or dialogues (vijay, ajith, simbu and others learn something from kamal. dont overact). The story which deals with chaos theory or butterfly effect is difficult for a layman to understand. I believe that the director should have taken a few more minutes to explain the chaos theory in detail so that the rural kamal ardent fans would enjoy the film. The man behind the scenes crazy mohan who already rocked in panchathanthram, pks, mmkr, etcc with kamal should be appreciated for his humorous intelligent dialogues. Anyone should follow keenly to enjoy his dialogues. Kudos to the whole dasavatharam team for great success. Basically it was released in 4 different languages (hindi, french, telugu and malayalam) I heard it has been released in all 50 cities in US(20$/ticket) and also in singapore, malaysia, etc. Hope it has created a new history in kollywood. All the best for winning oscar.

BOSS…-Be careful

Posted in general on June 6, 2008 by balajisrinivas

These days life of a software engineer has become ridiculous. All of them live in a sociey motivated by money. They are ready to work for 15 hours a day. They are not able to enjoy their life, even not able to get a deep sleep.

Now coming to BOSS
BOSS refers to BurnOut Stress Syndrome

High stress and a sense of loss of control over one’s life and business contribute to a stress syndrome known as burnout;.

I got stumbled when i read an article in “The Week” on BOSS. A study was made by NIMHANS, Bangalore. It says

28% are constantly under stress
22% could not pursue any hobbies
36% show signs of probable psychiatric disorder
27.6% are addicted to narcotic drugs
one in every 20 regularly contemplates suicide.

Analysts say india needs atleast three fold increase in the strength of pyschiatrists which is just about 3500.
Therefore, dont go behind money. Enjoy the life.

Hair dyes- a new vogue

Posted in general on January 31, 2008 by balajisrinivas

Most of the sunday mornings in most of the houses will be busy with what i am going to say(including mine). Its hair Dyeing. Its true that all the people above 40 years have white hairs (atleast a few white). Nowadays seeing white hairs is very difficult. You can see most of the people around you with black hairs, even some old people. What’s heartening is that they argue that they still have their hair black and they dont apply dyes. Are all the people listening insanes? Its god’s creation. Why do they want to pretend as if they are young? This leads to some skin allergies and withering of hairs. My point is that dye can be applied upto the age of 40. On the other hand some guys wake up asking “what colour hair shall i have today?” We can change the way how we comb or its pattern, but not its color.Whats the reason for hair bleaching? Why do these people want to lose their originality? Think ….

software professional’s jargon

Posted in general on January 22, 2008 by balajisrinivas

I would like to jot out some of the traits exhibited by the current software professionals particularly in metropolitan cities. This is based on my limited knowledge about them.English has started to take a new phase these days. no’s and yes’ are replaced by nope’s and yup’s. Hitherto I have not seen this in any of the novels or newspapers. They type 5ne and 10q instead of fine and thank you. They use very affectionate words like yaar, bubye(walter scott and shakespeare would have cried). Most of the software professional do orkuting. Having more number of friends is considered to be a prestige. They don’t delete the scraps. The useless scraps are just wasting the memory space. They spend most of their life in front of the computer which leads to pains in joints and muscles. In short, they love to write codes(php, scripts and all stuffs) and hate to write formal english.

Over to West Indies

The world cup  celebrations are in full swing. Interesting to see all the teams on the grounds. This world cup has started with some wonders. Although, India started its first warm up match with an impressive performance with WI, it  lost its first match against Bangladesh. Indian top order collapsed. Spending a sleepless night for that  worthless match.Pakistan is almost out of the series. It lost both the matches with WI and more worser Ireland. On the other hand australians, south africans and kiwis are in full form. What India is going to do? My internals and semesters are on the queue. I have to do a lot of preparations.

Last week we had our department culturals organised by our seniors. They organised a plenty of competitions like singing, drawing, dancing, fireless cooking,debate.quiz.etc…It started with fireless cooking and mehandi on saturday morning. We won the second prize in fireless cooking. Especially ashok, hari shankar, krithika and karthikeyan of our class won many prizes. I also participated in a skit. It was a great flop. But unexpectedly we won the second prize. The group song sung by ashok, mallu, charanya, krithika, jeyalakshmi was really fantastic. The group dance by our class dancers should be appreciated(particularly gopi, lavanya and hari). Atlast we took a group photo inside the college. After a great enjoyment I had a nice sleep in the night.
Unforgettable plaisir. Thanks to the seniors.
